Nature-based solutions and services: Groundbreaking project implemented in Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia, 10 October 2025 – Big changes are coming to Saint Lucia’s south-west coast! A new 5-year initiative, titled “Valuing Nature and Nature-based Solutions for Sustainable Blue and Green Pathways for the Tourism, Food and Urban Sectors in Saint Lucia”, is set to transform the way we think about nature, agriculture, tourism and development.

Funded under the overarching Global Environment Facility Blue and Green Islands Integrated Programme (GEF BGI IP), this project is led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), implemented by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and executed by CANARI in Saint Lucia in partnership with the Department of Sustainable Development (DSD).
