dsc_0200CANARI is facilitating the development of a National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for St. Kitts and Nevis with the Department of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Marine Resources, Cooperatives, Environment and Human Settlements. This activity is part of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA) Project on Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Land Management in the Eastern Caribbean (iLAND Resilience – Promoting a Climate for Change) funded by the European Union. This year-long regional project supports the strengthening of environmental frameworks in four countries.

Two national consultations were conducted to gain stakeholder input in September 2017 and July 2018 to identify priorities and appropriate measures for adaptation for inclusion in the strategy. See the background paper and workshop report from September 2017.

Stakeholders are invited to further review and comment on the draft National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy.
