Anna Cadiz-Hadeed, Adjunct Senior Technical Officer

Anna Cadiz-Hadeed began working with CANARI as a Senior Technical Officer in 2010 and, after a brief sabbatical to raise her two young environmentalists, has returned to CANARI as an Adjunct Senior Technical Officer. Anna has over 10 years’ experience in sustainable development and natural resource management, working throughout the Caribbean islands and for a short time in the Philippines.

During 2010 to 2016, Anna managed CANARI’s Civil Society and Governance and Capacity Building programmes. She brings with her skills and experience in civil society governance, organisational strengthening, capacity building, biodiversity conservation and participatory protected areas planning and management. She has mentored young non-governmental organisations and community groups and facilitated multi-stakeholder processes on a range of natural resource management issues. Anna is a strong programme and project manager who has successfully managed multi-year initiatives across several countries in the Caribbean region, including national and regional grant programmes to support civil society’s role in biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods.

With a people-centred approach to natural resource management, Anna believes in the value of building strategic and diverse partnerships to conserve nature and enhance livelihood benefits and wellbeing of Caribbean people. She is also passionate about exploring how development work can be more effective and equitable in post-disaster contexts in the Caribbean islands.

Anna has an MA in Development Studies, University of Sydney, Australia, 2007 – 2008; and a BA (Hons) in Environmental Management, University of Manchester, United Kingdom, 2001-2004
