As CANARI’s Deputy Executive Director and Staff Partner, Anna Cadiz-Hadeed helps ensure good governance and effective operations while working closely with the Executive Director to provide leadership in advancing the Institute’s mission and strategic objectives. She brings 20 years of experience in sustainable development and natural resource management across the Caribbean and for a short time in the Philippines.
Her areas of expertise include strategic leadership and governance of civil society organisations; organisational strengthening and capacity building; participatory natural resource management; and the design and management of regional grant programmes. She has mentored non-governmental organisations and community groups, facilitated multi-stakeholder dialogues, and advocated at the regional and international levels for the sustainable development of small island developing states.
Guided by a people-centred approach, Anna is committed to building strategic and diverse partnerships that conserve nature while enhancing livelihoods and wellbeing for Caribbean people. She holds an MA in Development Studies from the University of Sydney and a BA (Hons) in Environmental Management from the University of Manchester.
