About the event
This side event will spotlight the vital role of coastal communities in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in advancing ocean stewardship and the sustainable use of marine resources. Through a panel discussion featuring voices from the Caribbean, Pacific and Western Indian Ocean regions, the session will showcase how organisations are supporting local action and explore the kinds of support coastal communities need to sustain and scale their efforts.
The discussion will highlight innovative, inclusive approaches to implementing SDG 14. It will also examine the role of cross-sectoral partnerships in enabling community-driven, transformative ocean governance.
Why attend?
- Gain regional perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing coastal communities in SIDS from experts working closely with them
- Hear practical insights from organisations in the Caribbean, Pacific and West Indian Ocean regions on how they support community-led ocean action
- Discover what coastal communities really need to scale their impact – from funding and technical assistance to inclusive partnerships
Please register your interest in attending the event.
