Port-of-Spain, June 18, 2024 – Following a three-month stay in Trinidad and Tobago, the first cohort of Yves Renard Fellows is back in Haiti leading on-the-ground projects with their respective nominating civil society organisations (CSOs). From improving fishing practices to empowering beekeepers and documenting medicinal plants, these initiatives illustrate the practical application of the knowledge and skills that the five Fellows gained during the first phase of the fellowship.

Launched last year by the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI), the Yves Renard Fellowship programme is a one-of-a-kind initiative that aims to foster a new generation of Caribbean conservation practitioners and promote enhanced capacity within CSOs working in the region. The 2023 cohort is supported under a grant to CANARI by the UK Government through the Darwin Initiative.
