Under the the Partnership, the innovative governance structure established by CANARI in 2001, Elected Partners  work alongside the Managing Partner (the Executive Director) and Staff Partners to act as the organisation’s Directors, with collective responsibility for oversight of the Institute and for ensuring the appropriate use of the Institute’s funds.

The Elected Partners embody a wide range of skills and experience and, with the approval of the Managing Partner, frequently represent the Institute, internationally, regionally, or nationally. Elected Partners are not paid for their role as Directors/Partners but may from time to time be contracted to support projects in their areas of expertise.

The current Elected Partners are:

Zakiya Uzoma-Wadada

Chair

Dennis Sammy

Treasurer

Noel Bennett

Michael Witter

Staff members of the Partnership

Nicole Leotaud, CANARI’s Executive Director, is currently the Managing Partner.
