Akosua Dardaine Edwards, Adjunct Senior Technical Officer
Akosua has been working with CANARI since 2014 to develop its Rural Livelihoods programme. With strong emphasis on empowerment, exchange of ideas and experience, Akosua has helped several natural resource-based enterprises in the Caribbean to develop. Akosua’s unique mentoring skills have also proven instrumental in the establishment and sustainability of rural enterprises. Through CANARI’s Green Economy programme, Akosua is helping to transform Caribbean economies through the use of small and micro enterprises.
Akosua has won awards for Social Entrepreneur of the Year in Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean Female Social Entrepreneur of the Year from the Global Innovation Partners. She also offers entrepreneurial and business support to the marginalised in countries such as Tanzania, India, Grenada, Kenya, Uganda, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Columbia.
Akosua has a Master of Research (MRES), Manchester Metropolitan University, 2012; and an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development, London South Bank University, 2003.
