CANARI’s funds are derived primarily from grants under strategic partnerships with donors and provision of technical assistance to other partners that have similar interests and values.
Through the MacArthur Foundation Award for Creative and Effective Institutions grant, CANARI established an Endowment Fund and is actively seeking partners to help grow this fund to ensure the long-term sustainability of CANARI’s Programmes and its unique contribution to effective participatory natural resource governance and improved livelihoods in the Caribbean.
Partnerships with stakeholders at all levels are critical to our effectiveness. They stimulate new ideas and contribute to exciting results and findings. Partnerships based on action research and learning mean that key stakeholders can research and learn together, building mutual trust as they do so. These partnerships flourish both in the context of our grant funded projects and in the technical assistance we provide to others.
