Ecosystem valuation training series in support of the Grenada National Ecosystem Assessment

 

Through the Grenada National Ecosystem Assessment (NEA) initiative, the Environment Division, Government of Grenada and the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) have hosted a series of training webinars on Ecosystem Valuation.  The training was primarily geared towards the authors, contributors, policy makers and stakeholders involved in the Grenada NEA, but other interested persons were welcome to attend as well. This five part series of training webinars was facilitated by Mr. Alexander Girvan

Topics covered: Why value the environment? Why is undervaluing the environment a problem? Total Economic Value and Nature’s contribution to people (NCP); The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) concept of ecosystem services
